Eligibilities:Candidates seeking admission to the M.Sc. Nursing Programme must fulfil the following eligibility requirements:

1.      Educational Qualification
The candidate must possess a B.Sc. Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks from an institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and Odisha Nurses & Midwives Registration Council (ONMRC). 

2.      Relaxation for SC/ST Candidates
Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories must possess a B.Sc. Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from an institution recognized by INC/ONMRC.
 
3.      Registration Requirement
The candidate must be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife (RN & RM) under ONMRC or an equivalent State Nursing Council. 

4.      Work Experience Requirement
Candidates must possess a minimum of one year of work experience as applicable below:o       Basic B.Sc. Nursing candidates: One year of work experience after completion and registration of Basic B.Sc. Nursing.o       Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing candidates: One year of work experience either before or after completion of Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing, subject to the conditions specified below. 

5.      Eligibility for Candidates with Basic
B.Sc. Nursing Degree
i.       Candidates must have completed a minimum of one year of work experience after issuance of the Basic B.Sc. Nursing Registration Certificate
.ii.      The required one-year experience shall be calculated up to the last date of submission of the online application form.
iii.     Candidates fulfilling the above criteria shall be eligible for admission under both Government Counselling and Management Quota. 

 6.      Eligibility for Candidates with Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Degree
i. The Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Registration Certificate must have been issued on or before the last date of submission of the online application form.
ii.      The mandatory one-year work experience requirement may be fulfilled through either of the following:
o       One year of work experience after issuance of the Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Registration Certificate, calculated up to the last date of application submission
o       One year of work experience obtained after issuance of the GNM Registration Certificate and before admission into the Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Programme.
iii.     Candidates satisfying either of the above conditions shall be eligible for admission under both Government Counselling and Management Quota. 

7.      Reciprocal Registration for Candidates Registered in Other States
Candidates registered under any other State Nursing Council shall be eligible to participate in the State selection process. However, after admission, selected candidates must obtain reciprocal registration under ONMRC and submit the certificate to the respective institution within three months from the last date of admission. 

8.      Submission of Reciprocal Registration CertificateFailure to submit the reciprocal registration certificate within the prescribed period may result in action deemed appropriate by the State Nursing Selection Committee, Odisha. 

9.      Recognition of Work Experience One year of work experience in teaching, clinical practice, or a combination of both shall be considered subject to the following conditions:
i.       Experience shall be counted from the date of joining after RN & RM registration with the concerned State Nursing Council up to the last date of submission of the application form.
ii.      Clinical Experience: Experience as a Staff Nurse in Government Hospitals, Government Undertakings, Public Sector Undertakings, Government empanelled hospitals, Referral Hospitals (Government/Private), or ESI Hospitals approved by the State Government or Government of India.
iii.     Teaching Experience: Experience as a Tutor/Clinical Instructor (CI) in nursing institutions recognized by INC/ONMRC.
iv.     Experience certificates submitted by applicants shall be verified by the Convener of the Nodal Selection Committee at District Level for authenticity from the respective hospital or institution. 

10.   Medical FitnessCandidates must be medically fit to pursue the programme and shall submit a Medical Fitness Certificate in the prescribed format. 

11.   Eligibility for In-Service CandidatesIn-service candidates must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the concerned appointing authority.

•       If unable to obtain the NOC before the last date of online application submission, candidates may upload a copy of the request submitted to the authority (as per Annexure–VIII).
•       However, failure to produce the original NOC at the time of reporting to the institution shall result in cancellation of admission, and the seat shall be treated as vacant for Mop-Up Round Counselling. 

12.   Odia Language Requirement (Applicable for State Quota Candidates Only)Candidates applying under the State Quota must have passed minimum M.E. Standard Odia.

 13.   Residential Requirement (Applicable for State Quota Candidates Only)Candidates applying under the State Quota must be a resident of Odisha as defined under Government of Odisha norms. 

14.   Gender EligibilityAdmission is open to both female and male candidates.
