NURSING LABORATORIES

1. Nursing Foundation LaboratoryThe Nursing Foundation Laboratory serves as the core practical training area where students develop fundamental nursing competencies before entering clinical settings. Designed to simulate a real hospital environment, the laboratory enables students to practice essential nursing procedures such as bed making, patient care, vital signs assessment, medication administration, wound dressing, infection control, and basic nursing interventions using mannequins and simulation equipment.

2. Advanced Nursing Skills LaboratoryThe Advanced Nursing Skills Laboratory is equipped to provide hands-on training in specialized nursing procedures and critical care practices. Students gain experience in advanced clinical techniques including intravenous therapy, emergency nursing procedures, airway management, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and patient monitoring through simulation-based learning to strengthen clinical decision-making and professional competence.

3. Community Health Nursing LaboratoryThe Community Health Nursing Laboratory prepares students for delivering healthcare services at community and public health levels. The laboratory facilitates learning in family health assessment, home visits, immunization practices, maternal and child health services, health education, community surveys, and preventive healthcare interventions through practical demonstrations and community-based simulation activities.

4. Nutrition LaboratoryThe Nutrition Laboratory provides students with practical knowledge of balanced diet planning and therapeutic nutrition. The laboratory supports learning related to nutritional assessment, meal preparation, diet modification, food preservation, nutritional counselling, and dietary management for individuals across different age groups and health conditions.

5. Obstetrics and Gynaecological (OBG) Nursing LaboratoryThe OBG Nursing Laboratory is designed to develop competency in maternal and reproductive healthcare. Students are trained in antenatal, intranatal, and postnatal care procedures, labour room techniques, newborn care, family welfare services, and obstetric nursing practices using specialized models and simulation equipment.

6. Child Health / Paediatric Nursing LaboratoryThe Child Health Nursing Laboratory enables students to acquire knowledge and practical skills in providing comprehensive nursing care to infants and children. The laboratory supports training in growth and development assessment, paediatric procedures, immunization practices, neonatal care, and management of common childhood health conditions using child and neonatal simulators.


7. Pre-Clinical Science Laboratory (Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology & Biochemistry)The Pre-Clinical Science Laboratory strengthens the scientific foundation of nursing education through practical learning. Equipped with anatomical models, specimens, charts, microscopes, and laboratory instruments, the facility supports understanding of human body structure, physiological processes, microbiological concepts, and biochemical principles essential for clinical practice.
