Eligibilities:Candidates seeking admission to the
Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Programme must fulfil the following eligibility requirements:
1. Educational Qualification
The candidate must have successfully passed the General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) examination conducted by Odisha Nurses & Midwives Examination Board (ON&MEB), Odisha or an equivalent recognized authority.
2. Registration Requirement
The candidate must possess a valid GNM Registration Certificate and be registered as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife (RN & RM) with the Odisha Nurses & Midwives Registration Council (ONMRC) or any other recognized State Nursing Council on or before the last date of submission of the online application form for admission under both Government Counselling and Management Quota.
3. Reciprocal Registration for Candidates Registered in Other States
Candidates registered with any other State Nursing Council shall be eligible to participate in the State selection process. However, after admission, the selected candidates must obtain reciprocal registration under ONMRC and submit the reciprocal registration certificate to the respective institution within three months from the last date of admission.
4. Submission of Reciprocal Registration Certificate
Failure to submit the reciprocal registration certificate within the prescribed period may result in appropriate action by the State Nursing Selection Committee, Odisha, as deemed necessary.
5. Medical Fitness
Candidates must be medically fit to pursue the programme and shall submit a Medical Fitness Certificate in the prescribed format.
6. Eligibility for In-Service Candidates
In-service candidates must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the concerned appointing authority.o If the candidate is unable to obtain the NOC before the last date of submission of the online application form, he/she may upload a copy of the application submitted to the authority requesting issuance of the NOC (as per Annexure–VIII).o However, the original NOC must be submitted at the time of reporting to the institution. Failure to produce the NOC shall result in cancellation of admission, and the seat will be treated as vacant for Mop-Up Round Counselling.
7.Odia Language Requirement (Applicable for State Quota Candidates Only)Candidates applying under the State Quota must have passed minimum M.E. Standard Odia.
8. Residential Requirement (Applicable for State Quota Candidates Only)
Candidates applying under the State Quota must be a resident of Odisha as defined under the Government of Odisha norms.
9. Gender Eligibility
Admission is open to both male and female candidates.
